Trying to be thankful
I spent Thanksgiving week off from work. I took the time to try my hand at canning. What an adventure!
New year, new garden
This year’s garden is amazing! All the soil additives and treatments have paid off amazingly! The herbs are abundant this year! Just a small amount taken from the rosemary bushes planted last year. The ones we planted were as big as this bundle and they weren’t heavily pruned to get this!
Harvested the deer potates today. (These are the ones the deer tend to kill off early by eathing all the leaves off. 🙄) For the fact they had a shortened grow time, this is a really good haul! Almost 2 lbs of potatoes, a lot of them perfect for boiling and roasting then making into potato salad! I’ll be planting sunflowers in their space. I also have the potato bags to harvest, but they are still going so I’ll wait till a week after the last leaf dies to harvest those.
Weekend Grab Bag
This weekend was such a mixed bag of experiences. Saturday was exceptionally cram packed and honestly, I took a full Sunday to recover and kind of wish I had given myself today to fully get back to myself.

I have been brooding again for a farm. As I listen to these gardening podcasts, I yearn for a space that is large enough and sunny enough to have a more bountiful harvest that my deck.
Learning and Growing
One of the things I started to really get into since lockdown is gardening. I have had a long lasting love affair of the idea of gardening since I knew growing plants was a thing someone could do, so…like from birth.
Rectifying some Regrets
I love my home. It is peaceful, calming and a space I always dreampt of living. I fully enjoy telling people who say, “I wanna live in a cabin in the woods!” that I am somewhat living that dream. It isn’t as cottagecore as they imagine, but, for all intents and purposes, it is what it is.
