Don’t get scammed – Pt 2

As promised, I am going to bring to light the whole Law of Attraction techniques and what to watch out for.

Now, I have been practicing the Law of Attraction since I first heard about it when I was 9 or 10. I would do vision boards, affirmations, creative visualizations, and meditations. Back then, it wasn’t nearly the thing it is today. If someone else knew what it was, I was always surprised. It seemed like a very unknown thing to do.

So, the Law of Attraction is based off the concept that “nature abhors a vacuum”. That if you talk, behave, and take actions as if what you want you already have, The Universe will provide it because then there is no lie.Listen, The Universe is not the morality police. It couldn’t care less if there is a lie in existence or not. It is simply there, like karma, existing because it does. It makes no judgements, no decisions, nothing that we consider “human” in nature. The Universe is simply a force.

Also, there is no truth to nature abhoring a vacuum. Vacuums do exist in nature, and they are just as welcome as everything else in the world. Nature also exists without judgment or decisions. It simply is, and we live within it.

There is zero science behind Law of Attraction. Most of the things you hear about it are easy to explain. That doesn’t mean they have no value. It just means they can be explained and understood as to why things happen.

As with everything in life, you need a clear picture of where you want to be and what you want to own. Otherwise, there is no goal. There is nothing that you are actually working towards. Ambiguity doesn’t create what you want because the truth of the matter is, you don’t even know what it is you want. This is why creative visualization is important. It creates a mental connnection and desire between you and what you want to attain. It gives you a clear set of goals to work towards. Without it, you have no idea what it is you are doing.

Creating goals is the major piece in the Law of Attraction. You are going to hear, “All you need to do is believe it will happen and it will” and I’m here to tell you, that is a load of crap. As the old militarism goes, “Shit in one hand and hope in the other. See which one fills up faster”. Yes, you have to beleive you can attain what it is you want, but you also have to do the work to get it. Nothing in life is just plopped into your lap. To win the lottery, you have to buy a lottery ticket. To win a race, you have to actually be in the race as a racer. The same is true for acheiving your goals. You have to actively participate in the getting, otherwise, nothing will happen.

Now, that sounds like it goes against the Law of Attraction. The way it is taught today, it absolutely would. The Universe is just a huge Santa Claus that “gifts” people with whatever they want, but that’s a myth. If that were true, we’d all be living in homes that are paid off, nice cars, loads of money and all the rest of the material luxuries. But we aren’t because the Universe doesn’t just do things because we want it. We still have to make the moves towards what we want. Much like the phrase, “God helps those who help themselves”, the Universe is exactly the same, but instead of taking credit for it, you can rest assured that you did it yourself.

The Law of Attraction is setting goals that are accompanied by postivity to help you stay encouraged and motivated to work towards your goals. Like physics state, an object not in motion stays inactive until put into motion. You have to put it in motion. You have to take the steps towards what you are wanting.

Kind of sucks, doesn’t it? To know you have to do something to get something. But that is life. You don’t get food unless you go out and get it. You don’t get water unless you get yourself a glass of it. You don’t get what you want unless you do the work.

So what is the point of the Universe and Law of Attraction then?

The Universe is your co-creator. You do the work, it opens up the pathways to make it easier for you to get what you are desiring. It can also make it harder if you have missed a step or didn’t fully understand what was needed from you. And yeah, that sounds pretty much like everything in life, and it is. However, if you keep your mind centered on the fact that the Universe is helping you stay motivated and opening the doors to get what you want, it helps. Like a placebo in a way, but still something positive that keeps you motivated and on target.

Now, here’s the thing; Anyone who tells you that you didn’t get what you wanted because you didn’t believe hard enough is a garbage person. They are literally a horrible person and are hurting you and those who are listening to them. That isn’t the truth, and to shame you for simply sitting there twiddling your thumbs to wait for the universe to present you with a gift is plain stupid. Sorry, but it is. And if they truly think that one simply has to believe, then they are stupid, too. There is no fault here. Nature and the universe don’t judge. They are not moral. They have no opinions. They aren’t sitting there tsking because you had a moment where you lacked faith. They are not some deity that exists to determine if you are worthy or not. They simply exist. If you put the energy and work towards what you want, as a force, it adjusts to that momentum. That’s all it does.

The trick of asking the Universe to show you signs if you are on the right direction is kind of silly, too. So, let’s say you ask the Universe to show you a red balloon if you are on the right track and you amazingly see one. That isn’t “magic”. That isn’t a sign. That is you telling your brain to focus looking for a specific object in the world, so when you see it, it is simply because you told your brain to fixate on looking for that. To debunk it, try an either/or method. “Universe, show me a green elephant if I am supposed to do x, or a blue cat if I am supopse to do y”. Not surprising, neither show up because your brain can’t focus on two things. It makes me think of Sex in the City where Berger is always finding playing cards all over NYC. He is able to do this because he has become attuned to finding them. That is all.

So quit waiting for signs. I mean, if the brain exercise works and inspires you, by all means, I fully support the placebo effect! And if you need a sign, here it is:

THIS IS YOUR SIGN. DO THE THING!

You’re welcome!

Hanging onto the dream is important.

Believing you can get what you dreaming about is important.

Doing the visualization of what you want is important.

Being positive about getting what you want is important.

DOING THE WORK TO GET WHAT YOU WANT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT! Without it, all you have is a dream that will never come to fruition.

So, visualize what you want.

Find out what it takes to get what you want.

Set up steps to reach what you want.

Set backs are okay and are not failures.

Remind yourself that you deserve what you want.

Remind yourself that sometimes, it takes time to get what you want.

Keep doing the work to get what you want.

The Universe will help your path and open doors for you as you work.

That is all there is to the Law of Attraction.

Manifest freely!
